This policy covers pawsofhope.in and the forms, donation pages and email channels of Paws of Hope ("we"). Paws of Hope is an initiative of the registered charitable organisation identified in the footer of this website, which is responsible for the data described here.
What do you collect?
- When you donate
- Name, email, mobile number, amount, the purpose you chose, and the payment reference the gateway returns to us. PAN and postal address only if you request a receipt that needs them.
- When you write to us
- Whatever you include in the form or email: usually your name, contact details and the message itself. Rescue reports often include photos and a location.
- When you browse
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) and, if you accept them, anonymous analytics about which pages are visited.
We never receive or store card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs or net-banking passwords. Those are entered only on the payment gateway's own secure pages.
Why do you need it?
- To complete your donation, send a receipt and answer questions about it.
- To act on rescue reports and adoption, foster or volunteer requests.
- To send updates about our work, if and only if you have opted in. Every update has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep our website and forms safe from abuse, spam and fraud.
- To meet our legal duties, including accounting, audit and tax-exemption reporting.
Who else sees it?
Nobody buys or rents our donor list. We share data only with: payment gateways that process donations (Razorpay); the hosting, email and storage providers that run this website, under contracts that restrict their use of data; and auditors, regulators or courts when the law requires it.
How long do you keep it?
Donation records: as long as Indian tax and charity law requires, generally up to eight years. Messages: while we are handling your request and for a reasonable time afterwards. Rescue photos and locations: only as long as they help the animal's care. Server logs: a short rolling window.
How is it protected?
Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site, PCI-DSS compliant hosted payment pages, and need-to-know access for the few people who handle donor information. If you suspect a problem with your data, tell us at help@pawsofhope.in straight away.
What about cookies?
Only the cookies required for the site and its forms to work, plus optional analytics cookies you can decline. Blocking cookies in your browser will not stop you from using the site.
What are my rights?
You may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted where the law allows, or withdraw consent to communications. Email help@pawsofhope.in; we respond within 30 days. Rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any other applicable law are in addition to this.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 and will delete it if we learn we have.
Third-party links
Payment pages, maps and social media belong to other companies with their own privacy practices. Check those before sharing information with them.
